Leg Exercises
Quadriceps, Biceps Femoris, Hip Adductors, Calf Exercises
Leg Exercises. Leg muscles are located between three major joints – hip joint, knee joint and ankle joint, and, respectively, provide for the entire completeness of movement in these joints.
The muscles which are fixed to hip bones provide for the hip joint movements. The primary load falls on the gluteal delta.
Hip muscles provide for the knee joint movements. They connect the hip bone with the tibial and fibular bones near the knee and thus engage the hamstring, quadriceps, adductor and other minor hip muscles.
Calf muscles – front shinbone muscles and triceps surae – control the foot.
Numerous ligaments of each joint assure dynamic stability in all directions. Legs’ major function is interaction between hip, spine and back muscles in order to provide for body movement.
